Since its inception, the workshop has had the mission of sharing and teaching different techniques and trades that allow for a dignified life through art. Join us for a stay where you will have the opportunity to learn the techniques used by master artisans to decorate pieces or work with clay. You will be able to thrive in a unique environment where you will need to use your creativity and artistic skills.
At all times, you will be guided by fully qualified masters with extensive experience in the use of materials and techniques.

To make your stay an unforgettable and pleasant experience, we share this more detailed information about the process and everything you need to know so that you can soon be with us.
STAYS CAN LAST 5 OR 3 DAYS. WE OFFER PAINTING OR CERAMICS.
YOUR STAY INCLUDES
A piece of wood or 10 kg of clay.
Materials and tools to work.
Class with a teacher who will guide you through the process.
2 meals a day. The same as offered to the collaborators.

Accommodation
There is a guesthouse (Posada Tilcajete) where you can stay. It is not part of the workshop, but we recommend it.
It has rooms for 4 people with private bathroom, hot water, wifi, and shared kitchen.
It is two blocks from the workshop.
You can also rent a room or a house, but you must arrange it on your own.

JACOBO AND MARÍA ÁNGELES WORKSHOP – DECORATION
Decorate your own piece guided by an expert decorating teacher who will share with you the different techniques we use to decorate the pieces, color combinations, and Zapotec symbolism.
MOGOTE – HIGH TEMPERATURE CERAMICS
Experience and learn pottery techniques that allow you, by utilizing local resources, to give flight to your creations. We handle wheel techniques and hand construction.
2.- CHOOSE THE DURATION OF YOUR STAY
5-DAY STAY (40 HRS)
From Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

1.- Letter of intent.
2.- Possible dates to attend (keep in mind that stays start only on Mondays).
3.- Official identification (scanned or legible photograph).
4.- Liability letter and official identification of your parents or guardian. If you are a minor, you must attend the stay accompanied by an adult.
4.- PAYMENT METHOD
1.- Once your documentation is approved, we will contact you via email and ask you to make a 50% deposit of the total cost of the stay.
2.- Make your payment and send your receipt totienda@jacoboymariaangeles.com
3.- The remaining 50% of the total cost of the stay must be paid no later than the day of arrival.
IMPORTANT
Stays must be booked at least one week in advance as they require planning.
We only accept stays during the low season. We cannot accommodate you during Holy Week, Day of the Dead, July (Guelaguetza), or Christmas as we receive a large number of visitors and will not be able to attend to you properly.
At the end of the stay, you can take your piece with you.
In the case of ceramics, pieces take 7 days to dry, so you will not be able to put your piece in the kiln or glaze it. You will be able to experience this with other pieces. The Mogote team is responsible for firing and glazing your pieces once they are dry. We can ship them to your home. The shipping cost is extra and depends on the destination and the size of the piece.
The stay includes 10 kg of clay and the corresponding firings. You can purchase more clay by the kg, but it will have an extra cost, as will glazing and firing.
We include breakfast and lunch, the same food provided to the workshop collaborators. Food from the comal has an extra cost.
The start day for stays is only on Mondays, except for previously established events.
Stays do not include transportation or accommodation.
If the student requires medical attention due to any activity within the workshop facilities, these expenses will be covered by the workshop immediately, but must be reimbursed at the end of their stay.
