PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Automorsa Bus: the cost is $25 - $30, you should ask to be dropped off at the stop of San Martín Tilcajete in front of the Azucena Zapoteca restaurant.

Buses leave fromBustamante 603,Centro, 68000 Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax. It takes about 40 minutes to 1 hour to arrive.

Collective costs between $30 and $40 pesos, and takes 50 minutes to reach Tilcajete. You can take the purple taxis that go to Ocotlán or San Martín Tilcajete. There are also urvans.

The important thing is to get off at the San Martín Tilcajete stop in front of the restaurantAzucena Zapoteca.

IMPORTANT

The last transports back to Oaxaca leave at 8:00 pm.

1. EAT ATALMÚAND VISIT PALO QUE HABLA.Almú is a smoke kitchen in the middle of a copal forest, serving memelitas, moles, and other traditional dishes. You can pair them with a mezcal or a fruit water. The place is filled with beautiful plants and the music is pleasant. It is a place without pretensions or great comforts.

2. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING MORE SOPHISTICATED, BUT DELICIOUS, WE RECOMMENDAZUCENA ZAPOTECAIhas the best traditional Oaxacan flavor in town and can accommodate large groups.

3.PALO QUE HABLAIt is a bioconservation project that has been creating micro forests in the Valley of Ocotlán for 20 years. Their reforestation efforts are beautiful, and they can give you a guided tour to learn about the nursery, water harvesting, the medicinal plants garden, the temazcal, and the pollinator garden. You can also explore it on your own. It is an experience that brings you closer to nature in a different way.

If you're interested, you can adopt your own little tree or visit the ones you have already adopted.

4. TAKE A WALKING TOUR.Through the murals of Huellas Tilcajete.There are more than 50 incredible murals by different artists in the town. Here is the link to the map that will tell you where each one is, who painted it, and in what year.

5. HAVE A MICHELADA AT BOTANERO LOS NIETOS.After walking under the sun. Itzel is the owner and has an amazing chamoy recipe.

6. VISIT OTHER CRAFT WORKSHOPS. Everyone has their own style.

7. CLIMB THE HILL OF MARÍA SÁNCHEZ.It is a hill full of legends. You can climb it in less than 1.5 hours, and from the top, you can see the entire valley of Ocotlán, Zimatlán, and Zaachila.

8. ROCK CLIMBING.If you are a fan of extreme sports, there is a rock climbing area on the Hill of María Sánchez. This requires knowledge and specialized equipment.

9. VISIT NEARBY COMMUNITIES.

A) Santo Tomás Jalieza is famous for its textiles.

B) San Antonino Castillo Velazco for its embroidery.

C) Additionally, you can find theTaller Manos que Ven from the artisan José García, a blind ceramicist with a great story.

D) Santa Catarina Minas produces the best clay pot mezcals; we recommend Graciela Ángeles from Real Minero or Maestro Lalo from La Locura.

Since the workshop was created, our tours have no cost. The mission is to showcase our craft and share with our visitors the process of making the pieces. If at the end of the tour you decide to support the project by purchasing a piece, we greatly appreciate it as it is our livelihood.

Our tours can be in English or Spanish. If the group speaks another language and has its own translator, there is no problem.

It generally lasts between 45 minutes to an hour.

It is not essential, but we do recommend it as it allows us to plan and allocate our guides to provide the best service to each visitor.

We have ramps for wheelchairs that allow access to the main areas. We also have spacious restrooms that allow access with a wheelchair.

Yes, in most areas, photos and videos can be taken. There are certain areas where we ask that no photos be taken, but only when the guide indicates.

If you come with a recording team, an appointment is needed in advance.

Yes, you can bring your pet as long as it is on a leash or in a carrier.

TO PLACE SPECIAL ORDERS, THE PROCESS IS AS FOLLOWS

First, choose the animal or the fusion that will be worked on.

The price of the piece is determined by the size and complexity of the carving.

Next, choose the color palette.

Finally, mention if you want the piece to have any intention or meaning.

THE ARTISTS TAKE THIS AS INSPIRATION AND WORK ON IT

To carry out an order, we require a 30% deposit. Once received, work on the piece begins.

A sketch can be made to show the piece and its position. It is in black and white, does not include colors or decoration details. The cost is $1,200 MXN. You are entitled to one correction of the sketch. If you decide to make the piece, the cost of the sketch is included in the final price.

Once the piece goes into decoration, you will receive photos of the progress every 15 days.

The delivery time varies from 8 months to 1 year, depending on the size of the piece. THE DELIVERY TIME IS AN ESTIMATE.

Once the order is completed, you can pay the remaining 70% or make payments in installments.

The shipping cost is extra.

Shipping is available throughout the country and also internationally.

For international shipments, the piece is packed in a wooden box with expanding foam that adapts to the shape of the piece. Everything is wrapped in tissue paper to prevent damage to the beautiful painting.

The more fragile items are given special protection with polyurethane foam. First, they are wrapped in tissue paper that protects the paint, then a wooden or cardboard box is assembled, depending on whether it is a national or international shipment, and finally secured with polyurethane foam that molds to the shape of the item. Commercial items are only packed with bubble wrap.

Yes, for the natural reaction of wood, cracks, and pests.

Yes, voluntary returns and exchanges of pieces are allowed.

From the total payment for the piece, VAT and the amount of the bank commission are deducted. All refunds are made in cash.

If the reason for the return is attributable to us as a workshop, we commit to refunding all the money.

A STAYis like a course, aimed at anyone who wants to learn something new, whether it be ceramics or decoration. You do not need experience in the subject, just a strong desire to learn. You will have a teacher who will teach you the different techniques.

A RESIDENCYis aimed at an artist who wants to explore new possibilities in their discipline and area of knowledge, as well as share their knowledge. A residency proposes an exchange between the artist and the workshop, and is only carried out by invitation.

Accommodation is not included in the stays or internships, but we help you find a place to stay. The estimated price is $350 per night for one person. Room with private bathroom, internet, hot water, and shared kitchen.

No. We provide the necessary materials to make your residency/stay/internship possible.

Yes. Due to the health contingency, we require a vaccination certificate and/or a recent negative COVID test result. We are a team of many collaborators and we need to take care of each other.
