As part of the celebration of the Day of the Dead in 2021,Casa de México in Spain, in collaboration withIsla de Faropresented a small exhibition of the creatorsJacobo and María Ángeles. Five xoloitzcuintli carved in copal and hand-painted with natural inks were exhibited alongside the mega altar of the dead to accompany the deceased on their journey to Mictlán. The pieces were mounted on a pyramidal base, which is part of the cultural corridor of theCasa de Méxicoduring one of the most important moments of the year for this cultural center.

In addition, the already famous workshop Paint Your Nahual was held at the cultural center. The event received an enthusiastic response from those who took the workshop, excited to learn about the Zapotec tradition of decorating carved wooden figures.

This exhibition space serves as an extraordinary excuse to continue spreading and showcasing the powerful work of the workshop ofJacobo and María Ángelesin the European continent.
